Lunch in the Parks

Every Saturday, Dwelling House of Hope through its Outreach program makes lunch bags filled with healthy, nutritious food which are taken to various parks around the city of Lowell to feed the less fortunate and displaced people who hang around the parks.

Who would know that life can turn around and you can find yourself in the street holding a sign that reads; “HELP!” Many people would like to judge and not put into consideration to ask “How?”, “Why?”, “When?” and “What happened to this person?”

I was once a great father, great husband, great friend and well-respected person with a great job. One day I found myself holding a sign that read “HELP!” I had lost my job of 28 years along with my marriage. I was hopeless, helpless, homeless and depressed.

I could only find comfort in drugs until I became an addict. One day someone from Men and Women of Vision Empowering Nations (MOVEN/WOVEN) saw me with my sign. I didn’t think my life could turn around. With the help of MOVEN/WOVEN, I become a better person again.

Dwelling House of Hope COVID-19 Response

During the COVID-19 health emergency, we worked tirelessly to meet the food security needs of our community. In addition to more families needing assistance, we helped to deliver food to people who are unable to leave their homes.

We partnered with Lowell Alliance, Lowell Community Health Center, Vinfen, New American Center, and Local Churches to deliver food to those who couldn’t leave their homes.

We modified our on-site distribution to incorporate social distancing guidelines and to minimized contact between individuals, including pre-packing food in boxes for pick up.

Pastors’ Appreciation Banquet

Dwelling House of Hope hold Pastor’s appreciation banquets to appreciate local area pastors that support their community in various ways. Many area pastors partner with DHoH to get food boxes to their community member.
